Socar aims to raise carbamide output
The carbamide plant owned by the state corporation Socar (Azerbaijan) will have brought its production to 650 thousand tons by 2024.
By the end of the current year, the enterprise will have produced 200 thousand tons. In 2020, the urea production is estimated to reach 500 thousand tons, in 2021 – 620 thousand tons, and 640 thousand tons in 2022.
Socar launched its urea plant in January of this year and began export deliveries in June.
Azerbaijan’s agriculture needs amount to 100-150 thousand tons per year. Considering the enterprise’s capacity of 650-660 thousand tons, urea shipments outside Azerbaijan can reach up to 500 thousand tons. The main sales markets will be Turkey, the countries of the Black Sea region and the Mediterranean.
