Russian Railways (RZD) has discounted the fare for rail transportation of potassium chloride from Berezniki and Solikamsk (Perm Krai) to Saint Petersburg by 17.8%. The discount is valid till the end of June this year.
In all likelihood, only two manufacturers of potassium chloride, Uralkali and Usolsky Potash Plant (part of EuroChem), can take advantage of the discount introduced by Russian Railways.
However, Uralkali owns Baltic Bulk Terminal located in St. Petersburg while EuroChem does not have its own port facilities there.
