Gulf Petrochemical Industries wants to build a new plant

Bahrain-headquartered The Gulf Petrochemical Industries is reviewing viability of two projects to increase ammonia and urea production.

The first project relates to increasing daily production of ammonia and urea at the existing facilities of the Gulf Petrochemical Industries by 15% through technical solutions that reduce energy consumption and use natural gas. The estimated cost of this project is $ 386.5 million.

Under the second project, the Gulf Petrochemical Industries plans to build an ammonia/urea plant with a production capacity of 2.2 thousand tons of ammonia and 3.4 thousand tons of urea daily respectively. This project is estimated to cost between 1.65 billion and 2.2 billion dollars.
