Voskresensk Mineral Fertilizers improves warehouse operations

The Voskresensk Mineral Fertilizers enterprise (part of Uralchem) is completing the repair works on the finished-products storage bowl at Ammophos Shop # 2. Extensive work is carried out in order to strengthen the retaining wall of the warehouse intended for storage of up to 11 thousand tons of finished products.

The warehouse of Ammophos Shop # 2 is one of the most important links in the enterprise’s supply chain. Currently, its boxes are used to store nitrogen-phosphorus and nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium (NPK) fertilizers, which are supplied to the domestic market, as well as to countries in Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa.

Works on strengthening the lower part of the warehouse bowl are carried out by the contractor in the current production operations in progress. Special steel sheets and support beams have been made and mounted to strengthen the load-bearing elements of the plates. Additionally, the metal structures have been blast-cleaned and painted with protective paint systems for chemical protection; clearances and gaps between the connecting elements of the plates have been eliminated, which will allow maintaining the warehouse supporting elements in working condition for a long period of time.

“Warehouse repair works are carried out efficiently and on time,” said Alexander Ivanov, the Head of Ammophos Shop # 2. “The measures will ensure the safe operation of the facility and allow us to increase the reliability of the mineral fertilizer production process.”
