Voskresensk Mineral Fertilizers has launched another project

The Voskresensk Mineral Fertilizers enterprise (part of Uralchem) has launched a project to replace two sulfuric acid collectors in the drying and absorption section of SK-48 production unit.

Currently, new collectors have already been contracted, an action plan for their replacement has been defined. So, at the first stage, the piping will be dismantled (acid and water pipelines), as well as the metal structures of the service sites. Then, the contractor’s specialists will begin repairing the foundation under the collectors, after which they will directly install the equipment.

Particularly, a collector responsible for mixing process water and circulating sulfuric acid in the cycle of the final absorption tower will be installed, as well as a collector designed for receiving and pumping sulfuric acid by submersible pumps for its circulation in the cycle of the same tower.

Final works will be associated with the restoration of the metal structures of the sites and the binding of collectors with technological pipelines. At the final stage, control and instrumentation will be installed and the chemical protection of the acid tray will be repaired.

“The equipment will be replaced during the turnaround maintenance period in the autumn of 2020,” said Sergey Podguzov, Project Manager at Voskresensk Mineral Fertilizers. “At present, we are engaged in the development of detailed design for the collector installation and process piping. All preparatory work is on a firm schedule and is completed on time.”
