According to the Russian Fertilizer Producers Association (RFPA), in January-June 2020, Russian producers increased their supplies of mineral fertilizers to the domestic market by 15.6% to 6.4 million tons.

As the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia reports, during the first half of 2020, members of RFPA provided more than 65% of the predicted volume of purchases of mineral fertilizers.

“Russian producers of mineral fertilizers are reliable partners of the national agricultural industry. Providing Russian agricultural producers with high-quality fertilizers is a priority task for the enterprises-members of RFPA,” noted President of RFPA and PhosAgro CEO Andrey Guryev, commenting on the results of 6 months.

The purchases of mineral fertilizers were slightly ahead of the annual schedule. Since supplies to the Russian market have a priority, the task for the application of mineral fertilizers, set by the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, has been met in full.

Industry enterprises also managed to increase their production and maintained high dynamics of supply of liquid mineral fertilizers to farmers for fieldwork in the condition of moisture deficiency in key agricultural areas.

According to RFPA, by the end of the first half of 2020, PhosAgro still keeps its leadership in the supply volumes of mineral fertilizers of all types to the Russian market with a share of 24.7%.

Europe is falling behind in this field. The concerns 30 years ago was reasonable. Now not so much. We need crops that can survive in a more extreme future climate. Handle droughts and hot weather better. Crops that are less tasty to pests like hogs and deere.
