Rusmolco expands its sowing areas in Russia

The Russian Dairy Company (Rusmolco) is completing preparations for the spring field works in Russia. According to the plan, the company will increase its sowing area of spring crops by 6% to 52.5 thousand hectares in 2021. Rusmolco plans to start spring sowing in mid-April.

During the spring sowing campaign, Rusmolco plans to implement significant changes in crop rotation. The area under sunflower crops and sugar beet will grow by 10% and 53%, respectively. The changes will be introduced due to current market trends and the high demand for these crops among buyers.

Besides, Rusmolco will increase alfalfa sowing as part of the development of its own seed production line and due to the growing demand for high-quality seeds of this crop in the domestic market.

As of today, the bulk of preparatory work for the sowing campaign has been completed. Complex fertilizers and ammonia were applied to the soils for sowing spring crops, and contracts for acquiring plant protection agents were signed. The company has fully prepared 52 thousand hectares of the plow for the harvest of 2021.

The crop production business of Rusmolco is closely related to the development of projects in dairy farming. Throughout the entire existing of the company, Rusmolco fully provides the growing livestock with a feed of its own production. Rusmolco has formed a closed operation cycle, which includes production, storage and processing of grain. In total, the company manages 154 thousand hectares of land on which grain, legumes, fodder and industrial crops are grown.
