Grodno Azot revamps its ammonia production

Grodno Azot (Belarus) held an extended meeting with the participation of heads of key divisions of the enterprise.

Among the discussed issues there was the modernization of ammonia workshops No. 3 and No. 4. Within the framework of modernization, it’s planned to extend the service life of existing facilities with a simultaneous decrease in the energy intensity of ammonia production.

“To optimize costs and maintain the operable state of the equipment of the ammonia production workshops No. 3 and No. 4, it’s planned to conduct a stage-by-stage reconstruction and repair of the existing production,” said Andrey Pashkovich, Project Manager of the Prospective Development Service.

According to his statement, within the modernization, the ammonia output should increase, and the received volume will be sent to the production of carbamide and the carbamide-ammoniac compound.
