FBN spins off Global Crop Solutions to form two independent agri-business leaders

Farmers Business Network said it has spun off its crop protection and first-mile logistics subsidiary, creating a new independent company called Global Crop Solutions. The move separates FBN’s digital marketplace operations from its chemical supply business, forming two distinct players in agricultural commerce and crop protection.
San Mateo, Calif.-based FBN will focus on expanding its online platform for farm inputs, financial services, and data tools used by more than 120,000 farmers across 190 million acres. The company aims to strengthen its asset-light marketplace model, connecting farmers directly with suppliers and lenders.
“This separation marks a pivotal moment for FBN, allowing us to operate as a pure technology platform dedicated to bringing farmers more choice, savings, and convenience,” said FBN Chief Executive Diego Casanello. He said the firm’s digital platform reduces distribution costs and widens market access for agricultural suppliers.
Global Crop Solutions, led by CEO Amy Yoder, launches with more than 250 crop protection registrations in the US and Canada. Operating an asset-light supply chain, GCS plans to serve retailers, distributors, and cooperatives across North America.
“Global Crop Solutions launches today as an independent powerhouse,” Ms. Yoder said. “Our independence unlocks growth potential and positions us as a reliable partner to the broader agricultural industry.”
Although independent, GCS will remain a key seller on FBN’s marketplace, ensuring members continue to access brands such as Willowood USA. FBN will retain a commercial relationship with GCS to maintain continuity for its farmer customers.
