Eden Research partners with Syngenta to expand ornamental crop reach in EU and UK

Eden Research, a UK-based biopesticide and biocontrol technology developer, said it has appointed Syngenta Crop Protection as its exclusive distributor for professional uses in indoor and outdoor ornamental crops across several European Union countries and the UK.
The agreement gives Eden access to Syngenta’s long-standing market presence in ornamentals, allowing the company to bring its fungicide product, Evelta, to cut flowers, pot plants, trees, shrubs, and bulbs. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Under the deal, Eden will retain ownership of product registrations and remain responsible for regulatory approvals, while Syngenta will fund and provide the biological efficacy data needed to support registration. Once approved, Eden will supply the finished product to Syngenta, which will sell it through its professional grower network.
Sean Smith, chief executive of Eden Research, said the deal reflects continued interest from large crop protection companies in biologically based solutions and complements the company’s existing partnerships with other top-five industry players. “This agreement strengthens our commercial reach and enables us to focus on technology development while leveraging Syngenta’s market access,” he said.
Syngenta, headquartered in Switzerland, operates in more than 90 countries and employs over 30,000 people. The company has been increasing its focus on sustainable and biological crop protection alongside its conventional products, responding to growing regulatory and market demand for lower-residue solutions.
Eden Research is listed on London’s AIM market under the ticker EDEN.
