John Deere unveils dual fertilizer system and FurrowVision for 2027 planters

John Deere has introduced a series of enhancements for its 2027 planters, including a dual-product fertilizer system, new furrow-monitoring technology, and expanded logistics tools to improve crop emergence and operational efficiency.
The new dual-product fertilizer option allows operators to apply nutrients both in-furrow and alongside the seed. The system combines ExactShot in-furrow application, which places nutrients directly at the seed, with ExactRate, which applies fertilizer off to the side. It includes dual liquid tanks with level sensors, stainless-steel lines, and a redesigned agitation system to maintain consistent product suspension. An auxiliary tank can be used for micronutrients, biologicals, fungicides, or insecticides. The system will be factory-available on 16- and 24-row 1775NT planters and 24-row DB60 models.
The company is also introducing ExactDepth electric depth control, enabling in-cab depth adjustments and row-by-row calibration across several planter models with up to 36 rows. A new FurrowVision system uses three in-furrow cameras to provide real-time views of furrow conditions, including residue levels and depth measurements, through the John Deere Operations Center. FurrowVision integrates with DownForce Automation to adjust downforce settings based on soil resistance and furrow conditions. In addition, new logistics features within the Operations Center, available with the G5 Advanced license, allow operators to monitor equipment location, work status, and product levels in real time to reduce downtime during planting.
