Precision Planting unveils dual-action spraying system that tremendously reduces input costs

Precision Planting has introduced SymphonyVision Duo, a new upgrade to its sprayer technology designed to improve chemical efficiency and precision weed control. The system builds on the company’s earlier pulse-width modulation retrofit and camera-enabled SymphonyVision platform, which identifies weeds in real time and applies targeted treatments.
The latest version adds a secondary nozzle and an additional boom, allowing operators to run two spray applications simultaneously. The setup includes a dual-tank configuration, with one tank carrying residual herbicide and another holding a concentrated contact herbicide. An integrated mixing system ensures proper blending when the contact product is injected into the spray stream during operation.
As the sprayer moves across the field, the system applies residual herbicide broadly and activates a second nozzle only when weeds are detected, enabling a combined and localized application. The approach is intended to reduce overall chemical use while maintaining effectiveness. A redesigned injection pump provides real-time performance data, and unused concentrate can be returned to its original container, helping limit waste and improve operational efficiency.
