Emmerson counts on government subsidies
The British company Emmerson has received confirmation that it will be granted preferences under an investment convention agreed with the Government of Morocco for the implementation of the Khemisset Potash Project.
The Moroccan Government intends to give Emmerson tax concessions that will reduce project costs by about 10%. Direct government subsidies could be up to $ 40 million.
A specific list of preferences will be set forth in the investment convention that Emmerson plans to sign with the Moroccan Government in the first half of 2020.
The projected resources of the Khemisset Potash Project are estimated at 311 million tons of salts with an average potassium oxide content of 10.2%. Emmerson intends to start production of potash salts in 2022, and expects to produce potassium chloride as a product of their processing.
