Record urea sales witnessed in Pakistan

In December 2019, urea sales in the domestic market of Pakistan amounted to 1.22 million tons compared to 0.38 million tons in November. Such a skyrocketing growth in its sales is associated with rumors of natural gas prices rising in January 2020.

In general, in 2019, total urea sales in Pakistan reached about 6.1 million tons with an increase of 3.1% over the result achieved in 2018.

Fauji Fertiliser Company shipped 2.44 million tons of the total volume of urea, and 1.98 million tons were sold by Engro Fertiliser. Both became the market leaders in sales of this type of nitrogen fertilizer.
