In 2019, Uralchem increased its total sales to the domestic market by 19%. In total, 3 million tons of products were delivered to the Russian market and the CIS countries during the reporting period, which is 400 thousand tons higher than in 2018. Sales of mineral fertilizers manufactured by Uralchem in 2019 increased the most in the Russian market. Their volume increased by 32% and approached 1.4 million tons, and more than 1.7 million tons if including the CIS markets.

Sales of products manufactured at Uralchem enterprises in Russia and the CIS countries are carried out by its Trading House, which traditionally focuses mainly on interaction with the country’s agricultural and industrial enterprises.

In 2019, Uralchem remained the first among other producers in sales of ammonium nitrate to agricultural and industrial consumers in Russia. Over the past period, more than 900 thousand tons were shipped to the agriculture sector, an increase of 26% compared to 2018. Almost 600 thousand tons were delivered to the industry sector, with a growth of 27%. Thanks to the expansion and uninterrupted operation of the distribution network, sales of innovative water-soluble fertilizers doubled.

“Uralchem Trading House successfully implements the sales strategy on the Russian market. At the end of 2019, almost 50% of all products manufactured by the company were delivered to the domestic market. We pay great attention to the needs of domestic farmers and are constantly working on developing the most convenient and efficient distribution system for them,” said Yuri Voronin, General Director of Uralchem Trading House.

Sales of the “industrial consumption” product groups showed a significant increase by 12% in 2019. A total of 1.3 million tons of products were shipped to customers, including ammonium nitrate, urea and premium calcium nitrate.

Uralchem’s main strategy is to develop sales to end consumers using a network of partner warehouses. Over 12 months, the number of storage and sales points of Uralchem’s products in Russia increased from 40 to 55, over 350 thousand tons of products were shipped through them.

Europe is falling behind in this field. The concerns 30 years ago was reasonable. Now not so much. We need crops that can survive in a more extreme future climate. Handle droughts and hot weather better. Crops that are less tasty to pests like hogs and deere.
