Azerbaijan suspended nitrogen fertilizer exports in May

During the first five months of 2020, Azerbaijan supplied almost 50.439 thousand tons of nitrogen fertilizers to the world market.

“During January-May this year, Azerbaijan exported 50.439 thousand tons ($7.365 million) of nitrogen fertilizers. However, the share of fertilizers in the total export volume in the reporting period amounted just to 0.11%, and 1.02% of the volume in the structure of the non-oil exports,” reported State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.

At the same time, according to the agency’s statement, Azerbaijan didn’t export nitrogen fertilizers in May at all. At the end of 2019, the export of nitrogen fertilizers (carbamide and ammonium sulfate) from Azerbaijan reached 114.350 thousand tons ($18.340 million).
