Kirovo-Chepetsk Chemical Plant restarted ammonium nitrate production

Kirovo-Chepetsk Chemical Plant (KCKK, part of Uralchem) has completed the shutdown repair of a large-tonnage ammonium nitrate unit AC-72/2 in the ammonium nitrate and nitrogen phosphorus workshop.

The repairs included cleaning and repair of the capacitive, heat-exchanging, reactor and dynamic equipment of the unit. During the shutdown of the unit, there was conducted the expert appraisal of industrial safety of capacitive equipment and equipment operating under excess pressure. Among the important works, one can also note the software updating of the process automation system.

“Regular repair and maintenance of the equipment in ammonium nitrate units guarantees the safety and stable operation of the workshop, fulfillment of production plans and provision of workshops with ammonium nitrate solutions,” said Andrey Khodyrev, Head of the ammonium nitrate and nitrogen phosphorus workshop.

All works are completed as scheduled, and AC-72/2 was put into operation a day earlier.
