Kirovo-Chepetsk Plant renews calcium nitrate production

Repairs touched upon two granulation plants. They include calcium nitrate pulp production unit, pulp filtration unit on press filters, granulation and classification units, packaging and shipping lines for the finished product to consumers.
Before the start of the overhaul, all plants and equipment had to be shut down. Then after the technological equipment preparation process, the representatives of repair services could begin operations. They carried out a large amount of work on the audit, replacement and repair.
At the end of the repair work, specialists conducted operational tests of the heat generators. The tests’ purpose is to ensure the completeness of natural gas combustion and also the steady operation of plants and the production of the drying agent of the required quality.
“We have completed all repair and commissioning works efficiently and on time. We also noted the seamless interaction of all employees who participated in the repair. The plants are running again, and we have obtained granular calcium nitrate of commercial quality,” said Alexander Shevelev, the head of the phosphoric acid and nitrate salts workshop.
