Pesticide production is on the rise in Russia

As the Federal State Statistics Service reports, during the ten months period of this year, the production of herbicides in Russia increased by 30.4% to 78.7 thousand tons, fungicides by 12.6% to 26.5 thousand tons.
In October, the production of herbicides amounted to 5.6 thousand tons, having increased by 34.4% compared to the same month in 2019, however, their output decreased by 1.7% compared to September 2020. The production of fungicides reached 2.3 thousand tons, having increased by 14.4% to the result of October 2019 and by 29% to September 2020.

Europe is falling behind in this field. The concerns 30 years ago was reasonable. Now not so much. We need crops that can survive in a more extreme future climate. Handle droughts and hot weather better. Crops that are less tasty to pests like hogs and deere.
