The Obskiy greenhouse complex was launched in the Novosibirsk region
The Governor of the Novosibirsk region, Andrey Travnikov, and the founder of Gorkunov Group, Boris Gorkunov, took part in the opening ceremony of the Obskiy greenhouse complex and discussed the future development of the greenhouse industry in the region.
“I am confident that with the appearance of a new greenhouse complex, the situation on the food market in Novosibirsk will change. We are well aware that such a light product as a salad contains a large transport and logistics component in its cost price. And we hope that the production located practically on the border with the city of Novosibirsk will positively affect prices in our groceries,” said Andrey Travnikov.
Boris Gorkunov noted the modern technological level of the new production. “We have set a high level of automation, very high requirements for nutrition and plant protection. The cost of production plays an important role and, compare to our competitors, it’s two times lower. The capacity of a new plant is sufficient to provide not only the Siberian Federal District but even the Far East,” said Boris Gorkunov.
The investment project for the construction of the Obskiy greenhouse complex was implemented in 2019-2021. Its area is 6 hectares, including 2 hectares for growing salads and 4 hectares for growing cucumbers. The complex can produce up to 6.952 thousand tons of vegetables per year.
The next investment project of the Gorkunov Group is the construction of a seed-breeding center. The project was approved by the Investment Council of the Novosibirsk region in January 2020.
