Novatek intends to ship ammonia to Germany
Novatek and Uniper have signed an agreement on long-term supplies of up to 1.2 million tons of ammonia per year mainly to the German market. The product price will base on the corresponding European and world reference quotes.
The agreement determines the terms of delivery of ammonia by Novatek, which is going to be produced at the currently designed Obskiy gas chemical complex. The complex will use technologies for capturing and storing carbon dioxide.
Obskiy gas chemical complex is planned to be launched in 2027. It will produce up to 2.2 million tons of ammonia using natural gas supplied from the Yamalo-Nenets region.
