Consumption of mineral fertilizers in Russia increased by 20%

As the Russian Ministry of Agriculture reports, in 2021, about 4.68 million tons of mineral fertilizers were supplied to domestic farmers and agricultural organizations, which is 20% more than in 2020.

According to the preliminary data, the level of application of fertilizers was raised to 55 kg per 1 hectare of a sown area on average throughout the country (in 2020 – 50 kg per 1 hectare). This, in turn, contributed to obtaining a decent harvest of the main crops. For example, the harvest of sunflower, soybeans, rapeseed, fruits, and berries in Russia set a new record.

Despite a significant rise in prices for mineral fertilizers in 2021, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture took the necessary measures to provide farmers with them on time.
