Vladimir Putin: “We need to serve the domestic market first”

The Russian authorities do not aim to limit the opportunities of the mineral fertilizer companies to earn, said Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with General Director of Uralchem Dmitry Mazepin.

“Our goals are not to prevent domestic producers of mineral fertilizers from making a corresponding profit by taking advantage of market conditions but to provide the Russian market with the necessary amount of fertilizers first. I believe both tasks can be solved, although at first glance they seem to be mutually exclusive,” said Vladimir Putin.

Nevertheless, the President says that Russian companies will be able to earn decently, taking advantage of the situation, however, first of all, they need to provide the domestic market with mineral fertilizers.
