Hurricane Ian hit Mosaic production capacities
American Mosaic announced an expected decrease in the output of phosphorus fertilizers after the impact of Hurricane Ian on its enterprises. According to Mosaic’s forecast, it will reduce the production and supply of phosphorus fertilizers by 200-250 thousand tons, approximately equally between the 3rd and 4th quarters of this year.
Mosaic also expects to sell 1.6 million tons of phosphorus fertilizers at the end of the 3rd quarter of 2022 against the previously estimated 1.7-2 million tons due to the closure of seaports in the United States and the suspension of freight traffic on railways.
In general, over the next one or two weeks, Mosaic intends to carry out repair work at the facilities affected by Hurricane Ian and gradually increase their load.
