Dorogobuzh will increase the production of nitric acid

The Dorogobuzh plant (part of Acron Group) launched a new (fourth in a row) unit for the production of nitric acid with a capacity of 135 thousand tons per year. Investments in the project amounted to 17 million dollars.

Its work will allow Dorogobuzh to increase the production of nitric acid to 1.5 million tons per year.

“Construction of the fourth nitric acid unit at Dorogobuzh is an important part of Acron Group’s investment program. The commissioning of the new unit will increase the output of the main products – ammonium nitrate and complex fertilizers,” said Alexander Popov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Acron Group.

The first unit for the production of nitric acid was launched at Dorogobuzh in the 1970s. The new unit, however, surpasses the existing ones in several parameters, in particular, the replacement of catalyst grids on it will be carried out once a year instead of twice.
