A large consignment of carbamide worth 2 million euros was confiscated as part of the Lithuanian sanctions against Belarus, said Darius Žvironas, head of the customs department of the Ministry of Finance of Lithuania.
According to his statement, the carbamide was produced at the Grodno Azot plant, which is subject to sanctions, but a completely different enterprise was indicated in the export documents. Carbamide was delivered by rail to the port of Klaipeda.
As part of the proceedings with the supply of carbamide, searches were carried out and two people were arrested.
