Uralchem will receive 500 fertilizer carriers from United Wagon Company

During the 26th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Uralchem-Trans, which is the logistics operator of Uralchem, signed an agreement with the Research and Production Corporation United Wagon Company for the supply of 500 hopper cars designed to transport mineral fertilizers. As follows from the contract, all wagons must be delivered by the end of 2023.

Hopper cars of model 19-9835-01 are distinguished by improved characteristics. The body volume of 101 cubic meters and the carrying capacity of 76.7 tons make it possible to transport a wide range of mineral fertilizers. Another competitive advantage of this car model is the extended turnaround time – 8 years or 1 million kilometers. For typical analogues, this figure is 2 years or 160 thousand kilometers.

As of today, 37 thousand hopper cars carrying mineral fertilizers are moving along Russian railways. 10 thousand units have a bogie with an axle load of 25 tons. 95% of them are mineral carriers of United Wagon Company.
