SynTech Research Group, a global leader in agricultural contract research, has completed the integration of AgIdea, a prominent agronomy, biology, and biotechnology research firm based in Argentina. This strategic acquisition enhances SynTech’s market position across the Americas, allowing it to offer agricultural companies a more comprehensive platform for R&D, breeding, and deregulation services. With over 600 specialists across 40 countries and more than 25 years of experience, SynTech provides expertise in efficacy research, regulatory support, and market positioning for agrochemical, biostimulant, biocontrol, and seed companies.

By integrating AgIdea’s established capabilities in advanced R&D services, the move significantly strengthens SynTech’s technology testing and breeding services, streamlining the research-to-registration process. AgIdea’s established presence in Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and the USA complements SynTech’s operations, creating a seamless global service offering. This not only improves efficiency but also positions SynTech to better address the evolving needs of agricultural companies navigating complex regulatory environments.

Yvonnick Jambon, CEO of SynTech Research Group, noted that the acquisition solidifies SynTech’s position in Argentina, a key market for agricultural advancements, while expanding its reach across the Americas. He highlighted that the integration of AgIdea’s team will enable SynTech to deliver integrated services that respond to the growing demand for innovation in agricultural solutions.

Gonzalo Grigera, CEO of AgIdea, stated that the partnership with SynTech aligns with AgIdea’s global ambitions, helping both organizations revolutionize client services and accelerate innovation in the sector. The combined expertise and resources will drive greater efficiencies in developing cutting-edge agricultural solutions.

Finalized on January 31, 2025, the integration reinforces SynTech Research Group’s position as a global leader in agricultural contract research, ensuring that it remains well-positioned to meet the evolving needs of clients in key global markets.

Europe is falling behind in this field. The concerns 30 years ago was reasonable. Now not so much. We need crops that can survive in a more extreme future climate. Handle droughts and hot weather better. Crops that are less tasty to pests like hogs and deere.
