SynTech Research Group, a global agricultural contract research organization, has acquired GLP Estrategias Avanzadas, a regulatory consultancy based in Mexico, in a move to strengthen its presence across Latin America and broaden its regulatory support services.

The deal, completed April 11, will allow SynTech to offer expanded field efficacy and residue testing in Mexico, while leveraging GLP Estrategias’ local regulatory expertise. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Founded more than two decades ago, GLP Estrategias provides regulatory guidance to companies in the agricultural, chemical and life sciences sectors. Its services include trial management, dossier preparation and submission to regulatory authorities in Mexico.

“The acquisition supports our strategy of deepening regional capabilities to offer more integrated services to customers,” said Jasper Barnes, SynTech’s director of global business development.

GLP Estrategias founder Blanca Sierra said the integration would allow the combined firm to provide “stronger support for customers navigating complex regulatory environments.”

SynTech, which employs over 800 staff across more than 40 countries, has been expanding its regulatory and research services through acquisitions and partnerships. The company works with agrochemical, seed, and biosolutions firms to assist in product registration and market access.

It is alarming to see these developments in California. As a vineyard grower, I have faced significant challenges this year, with fertilizer costs rising sharply while market conditions have made it difficult to sell the harvest.
