Fieldin and ARAG launch real-time precision spraying solution for permanent crop growers

      Share

Fieldin, a US-based digital farming platform, has partnered with Italian agricultural technology provider ARAG to deliver a new precision spraying solution designed for growers of permanent crops on the U.S. West Coast. The collaboration integrates ARAG’s hardware with Fieldin’s data platform, offering real-time monitoring of spray flow rates to improve pesticide application efficiency and reduce chemical waste.

The initial product under the partnership—a digital flow rate monitoring system—allows growers to track spray output in real time and receive immediate alerts on any discrepancies. The system also connects weather data, spray recommendations, and application metrics, enabling targeted adjustments during operations and generating reports for compliance and cost accounting.

According to the companies, the rising cost of agricultural chemicals, tighter environmental regulations, and narrowing farm margins have increased the urgency for more efficient pesticide use. The new technology is intended to help growers respond to these challenges with greater precision and fewer resource inputs.

A key distribution role is being played by Precision Ag Solutions (PAS), a California-based supplier with long-standing ties to the region’s permanent crop sector. As ARAG’s distributor in the region, PAS contributes localized expertise and supports the deployment of the solution across farms in the Central Valley and other West Coast growing regions.

Fieldin COO and co-founder Iftach Birger said the goal is to make advanced spraying technologies more accessible: “We are making precision spraying technology seamless and accessible for growers, bringing spray data from the cockpit to the farms’ dashboards and driving actionable insights.”

While precision spraying has seen widespread adoption in markets such as Australia—where over 90% of growers reportedly use such technologies—usage among West Coast growers remains below 10%, largely due to the complexity and cost of adoption.

The Fieldin-ARAG system is designed to ease that transition. “With this partnership, we’re making it easier than ever to transition to data-driven spraying—ensuring better coverage, lower waste, and improved compliance with sustainability standards,” said Demi Mantas, ARAG’s Americas Sales Director.

The technology is currently being deployed in vineyards, nut orchards, and other permanent crop systems. It supports functions including chemical use monitoring, automated flow control, and variable rate applications.

Australian grower Macadamia Farm Management, which oversees more than 13,000 acres, has been an early adopter of the system. The company used Fieldin’s Flow Data solution to identify calibration errors during spraying, allowing them to correct over-application before it impacted soil quality. Following initial results, MFM expanded the system across its entire fleet of sprayers.

“Since implementing the system, we’ve seen significant improvements in spraying consistency, and we now have comprehensive records for compliance,” said Armand Smit, Senior Operations Manager at MFM.

The partnership positions Fieldin and ARAG to meet growing demand for digital oversight in pesticide use, as regulators push for more accountable and sustainable practices in agriculture.

Europe is falling behind in this field. The concerns 30 years ago was reasonable. Now not so much. We need crops that can survive in a more extreme future climate. Handle droughts and hot weather better. Crops that are less tasty to pests like hogs and deere.
