Lantmännen partners with Agronod to automate crop data collection

Lantmännen, a leading Nordic agricultural cooperative, will automate the collection of crop production data through a new partnership with Agronod, seeking to strengthen climate tracking and streamline operations across its Climate & Nature program.
The cooperation will allow participating farmers to share cultivation data automatically through Agronod’s platform, improving both data quality and efficiency. The information will feed into Lantmännen’s climate tool Agrosfär, enabling more precise calculations of greenhouse gas emissions and sustainability results starting with the 2026 harvest.
“Our Climate & Nature program has driven the development of more sustainable farming for ten years,” said Claes Johansson, Head of Sustainability at Lantmännen. “Through this partnership, farmers receive clear confirmation that their efforts truly make a difference. With Agronod, new opportunities open up to further develop Climate & Nature.”
Launched in 2015, Climate & Nature promotes grain cultivation methods that cut emissions and enhance biodiversity. Covering wheat, barley, oats, rye, and durum wheat, the program has helped reduce the climate footprint of participating farms by up to 45%. It has expanded through partnerships with companies such as Spendrups and Coop.
Agronod, a Swedish digital platform connecting data across the agricultural sector, aims to reduce manual work for farmers by automating data collection and verification. “By automating the collection of crop production data, we simplify previously manual work, improve the quality of climate data, and free up time for farmers to focus on what truly makes a difference,” said Emilia Liljeström, CEO of Agronod.
Lantmännen, owned by about 17,000 Swedish farmers, operates in more than 20 countries and reports annual revenue of roughly SEK 70 billion (about USD 6.3 billion). Its brands include AXA, Kungsörnen, Scan, and FINN CRISP.
