Valent BioSciences and Seipasa form partnership to expand biostimulant offerings in US

Valent BioSciences and Spain-based Seipasa have formed a strategic partnership to introduce new biostimulant products to the US agricultural market, expanding the availability of tools aimed at improving crop quality and resilience. Under the agreement, Valent BioSciences becomes Seipasa’s exclusive US commercial partner for Sweetsei, a biostimulant developed to enhance quality parameters in specialty crops by acting on key plant pathways.
The companies said the arrangement aligns with the rising demand for biological crop inputs as growers seek alternatives to conventional chemistries. “Seipasa brings a scientific rigor to the biostimulant market that complements our own scientific standards,” said Salman Mir, President and CEO of Valent BioSciences. He added that Sweetsei has demonstrated results in international markets and provides farmers with an additional tool to improve harvest outcomes.
Pedro Peleato, Seipasa’s CEO, noted that the product already has a commercial presence in Latin America, Europe, and Africa, making the U.S. a logical next step in the company’s expansion plan. “It is very exciting to be partnering with Valent BioSciences to bring our biostimulant solutions to farmers,” he said.
The partnership builds on Valent BioSciences’ recent strategic moves in biologicals. The company created a dedicated biostimulant business team in 2022 and reinforced its portfolio with the acquisition of FBSciences in early 2023, adding the Transit line of biostimulants. Valent BioSciences is also preparing to integrate with sister companies MGK and Valent North America in 2026 to form the Sumitomo Biorational Company, a new global center for biorational innovation.
Seipasa, founded in 1998, develops botanical and microbiological solutions for crop protection, nutrition, and biostimulation. Its Natural Technology model and focus on sustainable innovation earned the company Spain’s 2020 National Innovation Prize.
