Corteva locks in headquarters: Vylor goes to Johnston, Iowa; New Corteva stays in Indianapolis

Corteva Agriscience has announced the headquarters locations for its two successor companies ahead of the planned separation, expected in Q4 2026.
The seed and genetics business, which will operate under the brand name Vylor, will be headquartered in Johnston, Iowa — the longtime home of Pioneer Hi-Bred International, which DuPont acquired in 1999 and which became the foundation of Corteva’s seed portfolio. The choice of Johnston is a nod to Pioneer’s century-long history in the region and to the deep agronomic expertise embedded in the community there.
The crop protection business, which will retain the Corteva name (referred to as New Corteva), will be headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, consolidating R&D and global leadership functions in Indiana’s capital.
Both companies will also maintain Global Corporate Business Centers in the eastern United States: New Corteva will anchor a center in Wilmington, Delaware — the traditional corporate home of DuPont — while Vylor will maintain a presence in Southeast Pennsylvania.
The announcement, made on May 12, formalizes a geographic division that reflects the distinct operational DNA of the two businesses. Vylor’s Johnston base keeps it close to the Corn Belt and its core customer base of row-crop farmers, while New Corteva’s Indianapolis headquarters positions it to build an identity independent of DuPont’s historical legacy.
Corteva’s board of directors approved the separation plan earlier in 2026, targeting a Q4 completion that would create two standalone, publicly traded agrochemical companies from one of the world’s largest existing agricultural inputs groups.
