Corteva Agriscience boosts sales in Russia

Corteva Agriscience reported on the first-year results since its separation from DowDuPont and also stood the direction for further development.

During the first year, Corteva has increased its key performance indicators and created a promising portfolio of products and services to ensure the sustainability of the entire food system.

First-quarter 2020 reported net sales were $4 billion, which 16% more compared to the same period last year. Seed sales rose by 27% and crop protection sales rose by 10% on an organic basis.

Head of Corteva Agriscience in Russia Alexander Kozachkov said that the company achieved meaningful progress in Russia as well. According to him, the net sales in the first quarter of 2020 grew by 8.7% (versus the year-ago period). The sales of seeds and crop protection agents rose by 4.5% and 27% respectively.

“Among the crop protection agents, we see growth in all types of products (herbicides, fungicides and insecticides),” commented Alexander Kozachkov. “The main drivers in sales of herbicides are drugs for corn and grain. The sales of drugs for special crops set a record. The sales of the promising for Russia nematocide of the new generation raised by more than 10 times. The drivers in sales of seeds are the hybrids of corn and Pioneer sunflower. We also managed to increase our share of presence among the large and medium agricultural producers.”
