Russian ecology watchdog filed a claim against Hydrometallurgical plant

On October 19, the Commercial Court of the Stavropol region will hold a hearing on the claim of the Federal Natural Resources Agency of Russia (Rosprirodnadzor) against the Hydrometallurgical plant (city of Lermontov).

According to the case files, Rosprirodnadzor intends to recover from the Hydrometallurgical plant the debt for a negative impact on the environment of 104.487 million rubles (approximately $1.35 million).
The Hydrometallurgical plant produces monoammonium phosphate, diammonium phosphate, and potassium sulfate. The company is currently controlled by Almaz Group and has formed the Almaz Fertilizers plant, which registered at the same address as the Hydrometallurgical plant.

On the request of Fertilizer Daily, sent by e-mail to the Head of the press-service of Almaz Group, Anastasia Kharitonova, regarding the claim of Rosprirodnadzor, no comments were received.
