Kazakhstan will expand the application of fertilizers by 3.3%

Kazakhstan allocated 11.8 billion tenges ($27.8 million) to support domestic seed production in 2021. As the Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Saparhan Omarov says, this will increase the share of elite seeds in the country by 7.4%.

26.1 billion tenges ($61.5 million) are provided to subsidize the purchase of mineral fertilizers. According to Saparhan Omarov’s statement, this will allow increasing the application of mineral fertilizers by 3.3%.

“According to the current information, 117.6 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers were supplied to farmers for carrying out spring field works. As of today, the applications for subsidies are already being accepted in the Jambyl, Almaty, Turkistan and Kostanay regions, and soon will be accepted in the North Kazakhstan and West Kazakhstan regions. In other regions, approval of lists and norms of subsidies is at the final stage,” said Saparhan Omarov.

In 2021, agricultural crops in Kazakhstan are planned to be sown on an area of ​​22.8 million hectares.
