Russia may extend quotas for the export of mineral fertilizers

Deputy Prime Minister Viktoria Abramchenko suggests extending the limitation of mineral fertilizer exports until July 1, 2023.

“Taking into account the current economic situation and the needs of farmers for fertilizers to meet the strategically important task of increasing agricultural production, Viktoria Abramchenko proposes extending quotas for winter and spring sowing of the next agricultural year,” the Deputy Prime Minister’s press-release says.

Quotas for the export of mineral fertilizers from Russia should end on May 31 this year.

The Russian authorities are also considering keeping domestic prices for mineral fertilizers fixed until the end of this year. Viktoria Abramchenko believes the measure should be extended until July 2023.
