PhosAgro intends to build new production complexes in Cherepovets and Volkhov

A PhosAgro representative said that the company is considering the construction of new complexes for the production of carbamide and ammonia not only in Volkhov but also in Cherepovets.

Plans to build a new complex in Cherepovets with a capacity of about 1 million tons of carbamide and up to 1 million tons of ammonia per year were announced at the end of 2021, however, no further development of the project has been reported since then. Construction was scheduled to start last year. In mid-2022, the head of PhosAgro, Mikhail Rybnikov, noted that so far there was no final decision on the project in Cherepovets.

For 2023, PhosAgro has planned a record volume of investments in the development of production – almost 67 billion rubles (over $867 million). The most important event of the current year for PhosAgro will be reaching the design capacity of a modern complex for the production of phosphorus-containing fertilizers in Volkhov.
