Kazakhstan limited the exports of mineral fertilizers to support local farmers

The authorities of Kazakhstan have decided to limit the supply of local fertilizers to other countries strictly. This decision will help to control the activities of traders and support local farmers.

According to the decree of the government of the republic, some fertilizers can only be exported directly from manufacturers. First of all, this applies to ammophos and ammonia.

With the help of restrictions, the government of Kazakhstan hopes to avoid the uncontrolled export of subsidized fertilizers abroad. To support local farmers, the authorities began to subsidize basic fertilizers at 50%. After this, traders immediately appeared. They purchased fertilizers at preferential prices and resold them.
