Russian production of potassium fertilizers increased by 22% in April this year

According to the Federal State Statistics Service, during the January-April period of this year, the production of mineral fertilizers in Russia fell by 2.5% (to 8.1 million tons). At the same time, April indicators increased by 3.7% compared to March this year and by 19% compared to the same period in 2022.

Even though in the the January-April period of 2023, overall production of potassium fertilizers decreased by 17.3% (2.4 million tons), in April it was produced 22% (0.7 million tons) more products than in March.

During the first four months of the year, the output of ammonia decreased by 7% (5.8 million tons) compared to the same period a year earlier.

The production of phosphorus fertilizers in the January-April period increased by 3.9% (1.5 million tons). However, in April the output was 3.8% (0.4 million tons) less than in March.

The production of nitrogen fertilizers for the same period of 2023 increased by 5.8% (4.3 million tons). The April indicator decreased by 3% (1.1 million tons) compared to March.
