Éléphant Vert integrates BIO3G to enhance global biosolutions market

Éléphant Vert (EV) has finalized the acquisition of BIO3G, a French company renowned for its natural agricultural solutions. This strategic decision leverages the complementary strengths of both companies, aiming to expand their influence in the global biosolutions market and enhance their offerings to farmers.

Synergy of products and markets

The acquisition positions EV to benefit from a dual “product and geographical” complementarity. EV, with its strong presence in Africa and a rapidly expanding export strategy in Europe and beyond, gains access to BIO3G’s established operations in France, Switzerland, Belgium, and Germany. BIO3G’s direct sales and advisory model complements EV’s strategic goals, while its portfolio of 45 products, including six patents and three marketing authorizations, adds depth to EV’s offerings.

With a combined workforce of nearly 850 employees and a shared vision of promoting agroecology and environmental health, the group’s portfolio now includes 80 active registrations and focuses on delivering effective solutions for farmers worldwide.

The partnership will include investments in product development, manufacturing, and IT infrastructure to support growth for both entities.

Shared mission and values

EV’s acquisition of BIO3G reflects their shared commitment to restoring soil health, improving farmers’ livelihoods, and advancing sustainable agriculture. Their collaboration, initiated in 2018, combines EV’s expertise as a pioneer in biosolutions with BIO3G’s decades-long focus on natural solutions. The founder and former director Marc Guillermou highlighted the alignment of values and the potential for strengthening BIO3G’s position in the biostimulants market.

Leadership for future growth

To support this development, a new management structure has been introduced. Pierre-Gilles Gérard, an agricultural engineer with extensive experience in the agricultural supplies sector, has succeeded Guillermou as Managing Director. Gérard’s expertise in management and project execution is expected to enhance collaboration between the two entities and support market expansion.

Europe is falling behind in this field. The concerns 30 years ago was reasonable. Now not so much. We need crops that can survive in a more extreme future climate. Handle droughts and hot weather better. Crops that are less tasty to pests like hogs and deere.
