Orbia Advance Corporation’s precision agriculture business, Netafim, plans to integrate plant-sensing technology from Treetoscope into its GrowSphere digital farming platform, expanding its offering of real-time irrigation and fertilizer management tools.

The partnership will allow growers to monitor a plant’s water status directly and receive irrigation recommendations based on real-time data. The companies said the technology is intended to help farmers improve water use efficiency and crop performance, particularly in orchards and tree crop systems.

The collaboration follows a pilot program in Turkey and is expected to expand across North and Latin America this year, with additional global markets targeted for 2026.

Netafim, based in Tel Aviv, is one of the world’s largest irrigation companies and a pioneer in precision agriculture. Its GrowSphere system offers growers a centralized platform for planning, executing and validating irrigation and fertigation activities. The addition of Treetoscope’s technology brings a new layer of plant-focused data into the system, supporting more precise field management decisions.

Max Moldavsky, director of innovation and climate solutions at Netafim, said the partnership fits into the company’s broader strategy of helping farmers increase yields while conserving resources. “Partnering with Treetoscope allows us to offer growers a solution designed for today’s agricultural realities and long-term sustainability,” he said.

Treetoscope, also based in Israel, has developed what it describes as the first commercial solution for directly measuring a plant’s internal water flow, using a single-probe sap flow sensor. The company says its technology helps farmers optimize irrigation decisions, reduce water costs and improve yields.

“Partnering with a global leader like Netafim marks a major milestone for Treetoscope and our mission to empower growers with accessible insights and optimization tools,” said Dotan Eshet, chief executive and co-founder of Treetoscope.

Orbia, based in Boston and Mexico City, operates across several sectors, including polymer solutions, building and infrastructure materials, connectivity solutions and fluor and energy materials. The company reported $7.5 billion in revenue in 2024.
