US Agriculture partners with CeresAI to bring AI oversight to farmland portfolio

US Agriculture, one of the country’s largest institutional farmland investors, has partnered with agtech firm CeresAI to deploy remote, AI-driven monitoring tools across its US farmland portfolio. The move reflects a broader shift among institutional landowners toward more data-intensive, technology-enabled asset management.
The privately held investment adviser, which manages diversified farmland holdings for institutional and family office clients, said it will use CeresAI’s platform to gain continuous, remote visibility into every acre it oversees. The system uses a combination of satellite imagery, computer vision, and machine learning to track crop development, flag risks early, and help farm managers and investors make more informed decisions.
“We’re learning to move beyond ‘pretty maps’ to platforms that offer actionable intelligence,” said Benjamin Crockett, chief operating officer at US Agriculture. “This gives us a much clearer line of sight into asset performance and helps us work more proactively with our growers in the field.”
CeresAI, based in California and backed by over a decade of research, has amassed more than 16 billion plant-level observations across global farming operations. Its software enables high-resolution monitoring across diverse regions and crop types, allowing stakeholders to respond to issues before they escalate and optimize inputs based on real-time conditions.
“This is about giving institutional landowners the same kind of performance visibility you’d expect in any other asset class,” said Ramsey Masri, CeresAI’s chief executive. “We’re seeing growing demand for scalable data that supports both daily operations and long-term strategy.”
The companies said the platform reduces the need for manual data collection, enhances transparency for investors, and supports planning by delivering consistent reporting on field performance. For US Agriculture, which operates across a mix of row and permanent crops, the system is expected to reduce portfolio exposure by identifying underperforming fields sooner and informing capital allocation decisions.
The partnership comes as farmland investors face heightened pressure to demonstrate resilience and performance amid volatile weather patterns, rising input costs, and shifting market dynamics. For institutions with widely dispersed holdings, real-time analytics offer a way to maintain oversight while easing operational burdens on farm managers.
By integrating CeresAI’s platform, US Agriculture is aiming to set a higher standard for remote farmland management, part of a growing trend in applying precision agriculture tools to large-scale investment portfolios.
