RLF AgTech secures national deal with Nutrien and raises $4.5 million to fund expansion

RLF AgTech has signed a national trading agreement with Nutrien Ag Solutions and raised $4.5 million from institutional investors, moves that mark a significant expansion for the Australian crop nutrition company.
The deal with Nutrien, one of the country’s largest providers of rural merchandise and agronomic services, will extend RLF’s distribution footprint to more than 1,200 outlets nationwide. That includes around 400 Nutrien corporate branches and more than 300 independent stores, including members of the Combined Rural Traders network.
The agreement will see Nutrien supply RLF’s liquid fertilizers, seed treatments and biostimulants to growers across regional and rural Australia. Acting managing director Gavin Ball said the partnership reflected growing demand for precision farming solutions aimed at boosting productivity and sustainability.
“Farmers are seeking higher yields and improved quality to strengthen on-farm profitability. This is exactly what RLF’s plant nutrition is designed to deliver,” Ball said.
The national rollout follows a company restructure last year that included a full management change, cost reductions and renewed focus on sales. RLF reported June-quarter cash receipts of $8.9 million, up 254% from the previous quarter, and positive operating cash flow of $800,000 for fiscal 2025.
To fund its expansion, RLF has secured commitments for approximately $4.5 million through a placement of about 90 million shares at 5 cents each. The funds will support raw material purchases, expanded manufacturing in Queensland and Western Australia, and new hires in sales and support to service the enlarged network.
The placement attracted strong demand, with new institutional investors joining the register. The company said proceeds will also allow it to retire most of its outstanding convertible notes, reducing leverage and improving balance-sheet flexibility. Settlement is scheduled for August 29, with shares to be allotted on September 1.
Stuart Moncrieff, procurement manager for specialty fertilizers at Nutrien, said the addition of RLF’s products aligned with the company’s focus on delivering advanced solutions in soil health and crop nutrition.
For RLF, the agreement offers near-complete market coverage in Australia and a potential boost to revenue as it pursues profitability after a period of restructuring.
