Tagros agrees to buy Bayer’s flubendiamide business across overseas markets

Tagros Chemicals India Private Limited has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Bayer AG’s flubendiamide (FLB) active ingredient business across Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region.
The transaction covers Bayer’s portfolio of solo and mixture formulations based on flubendiamide, a widely used diamide insecticide, along with the associated commercial and technical assets. These include trademarks such as Belt, Fame, Fenos, Fenos Quick, Belt Expert and Tihan, as well as product registrations and regulatory data, formulation know-how, technical documentation and inventories linked to the business.
The acquisition gives Tagros access to more than 25 country markets, strengthening its presence in the global diamide segment, a key class of crop-protection insecticides. It also moves the Chennai-based group further into branded formulations, an area it has had limited exposure to compared with its core business in active ingredients and contract manufacturing.
The assets will be placed under Arqivo, a recently established Tagros subsidiary that will manage the company’s formulations and downstream commercial activities.
Financial terms were not disclosed. EY India acted as M&A adviser to Tagros, while Khaitan & Khaitan served as legal counsel.
