      Never miss important fertilizer news

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) on Sept. 16 launched AgInsights, a new web-based data platform designed to modernize how producers and other agricultural data users access federal statistics.

AgInsights brings tabular data, charts and maps into a single interface, replacing the need to navigate multiple formats and applications. Users can sort, filter and explore datasets interactively, while visual tools such as choropleth maps and time-series charts are designed to make agricultural statistics easier to interpret. The platform is also optimized for mobile devices.

NASS said AgInsights was developed with feedback from an initial group of agricultural data users and is intended to support both general users and those who rely heavily on the agency’s statistics. The platform draws on NASS’s Quick Stats database and is built on modern technologies intended to reduce maintenance requirements and eventually allow older, unsupported applications to be retired.

“AgInsights is an important step forward in how producers interact with agricultural statistics,” NASS Administrator Joseph L. Parsons said. “By streamlining information delivery and integrating advanced technologies, we’re making it easier for producers to access, analyze, and apply the latest data to their operations.”
