Yield to surpass 10 mln. tons in the Rostov region

Weather conditions allow us to predict good grain yield in the Rostov region. The senior deputy governor of the Rostov region Viktor Goncharov reported that winter crops are in good condition and spring grains sowing is going according to the plan.

“Frosts and protracted spring most likely will obstruct getting a record harvest. However, we expect to get a stable harvest of 10 million tons. Winter crops are in good condition. It is also important that it is the raining period now. Moreover, we have already conducted more than 70% of spring grains sowing,” he said.

Viktor Goncharov also noted: “The agro-industrial complex keeps working stably. I believe that this sphere didn’t and won’t suffer from the existing situation. The price of wheat is good.”

At the end of 2019, the grain harvest in the Rostov region reached 12 million tons. Compared to 2018, the yield had increased by 900 thousand tons.
