Pakistan will support domestic carbamide production

The Ministry of Industry of Pakistan asked the government for an additional grant of over 2 billion rupees (approximately $12.709 million) to subsidize the production of 0.7 million tons of carbamide at two chemical plants.
As the Ministry reports, agriculture in Pakistan in December this year will face a shortage of 370 thousand tons of carbamide. A subsidy is required to prevent such a situation and maintain stocks at the level of more than 200 thousand tons throughout 2021.
The National Agrochemical Center conducted a comparative analysis of the effectiveness of carbamide import and its production at two enterprises. It showed that the import of carbamide will cost 13.6 billion rupees ($86.426 million).
