Odessa Port Plant (Ukraine) reported on the results of production activities for the 1Q2021.

According to the company’s press-release, in the January-March period of this year, Odessa Port Plant produced 137.4 thousand tons of ammonia and 204.5 thousand tons of carbamide. The company also loaded 662.9 thousand tons of ammonia and 141.8 thousand tons of carbamide onto sea vessels.

The beginning of the sowing season in Ukraine greatly influenced the volume of supplies of the company’s products to the domestic market. Shipments of ammonia by rail and road in the 1Q2021 increased 10 times (compared to the same period in 2020) to 14.8 thousand tons. The supplies of carbamide, in turn, amounted to 39 thousand tons — a record volume over the past 5 years.

During the 1Q2021, Odessa Port Plant was conducting a complex of preventive maintenance work at its production facilities. Besides, the specialists carried out repairs in the carbamide transshipment workshop. And also large-scale repair works continue at the ammonia production unit No. 2.

Europe is falling behind in this field. The concerns 30 years ago was reasonable. Now not so much. We need crops that can survive in a more extreme future climate. Handle droughts and hot weather better. Crops that are less tasty to pests like hogs and deere.
