Petrikovsky GOK may reach its design capacity in 2022
Petrikovsky GOK (part of Belaruskali) will reach its designed capacity in early 2022, said the Director of the mining department Yuri Petrovsky.
“In July, we plan to launch longwall No. 2, the installation of which was started in early March this year, then longwall No. 3 at the end of August, and at the end of December longwall No. 4. This will allow us to reach design capacity in 2022. This is a serious and ambitious task. There is no doubt that we will complete the works on time,” said Yuri Petrovsky.
The design capacity of Petrikovsky GOK provides for the production of 1.5 million tons of potassium salts per year with the possibility of increasing the volume up to 3 million tons. Its construction is the largest investment project of Belaruskali, which is estimated at almost $1.5 billion.
After the commissioning of Petrikovsky GOK and the expansion of the existing mine administrations, the production capacity of Belaruskali will grow to 15.5 million tons per year by 2025.
